Can we also talk about how the intro music slaps hard?
It's weird, it's creepy, it's kind of gross at times - it's very Junji Ito. Early in 2023, Netflix launched a new anime dedicated to the story-telling style you know and love from the horror king himself. Featuring some familiar faces, as well as some stories you may not know, it's a compilation of macabre with some hits, some misses, and some icky bits to keep you up at night. If you're into his style, it's definitely worth a watch.

But how did everyone in this show get so attractive?!...
From beautiful visuals, to incredible effects, to brilliant casting with dynamic portrayals, this is one of those adaptations we'll be talking about for a LONG time. Hey, HBOMax, if you need some advice... maybe you should be chatting up Netflix?
If we get to season 2, we might actually see something happen...
The beginning of the Millar-verse on Netflix, we got through all eight episodes of the brand new Jupiter's Legacy adaptation and we were... well, kind of underwhelmed. But I guess that'll happen when you spend 8 hours on 2 comic issues. Come hear what worked, what didn't, and what we hope to get from a (maybe?) season 2.
Just keeps getting better and better.
[Spoiler-free, friends!]
After much anticipation, the new season of The Umbrella Academy has come to Netflix and it is EXCELLENT. In a very un-spoilery fashion, we give you a brief reminder of what went down in season one and share our favorite parts of the new season. And yes, we can confirm, the hype train is real - season two is WAY better than the first. NO MORE ELVES IN ACTION MOVIES!
[Very mild SPOILERS!]
Admittedly, this week was kind of light on new titles and books we thought you needed to know about, so we decided to give our thoughts on the new Netflix Original movie adaptation of Greg Rucka's "The Old Guard." A good flick with great action (Charlize, you're a goddess), we cover the nuanced needs of bringing a comic to the big screen and the dangers that come with giving fans what they think they want. Comic shows are feeling the cancellations.

A big bunch of hot & fresh new number ones (some definitely better than others). Then, Tee continues through the dregs of Female Furies as we push toward the (hopefully?) satisfying conclusion. In the news, we've got the sad report that Happy was cancelled after two seasons (that's ironic, right?) and Deadly Class is axed after just one. But we pull through the broodiness thanks to DC heroes supporting some real heroes. Our third segment comes tomorrow when we review the new X-Men: Dark Phoenix film during a special Reel Extra episode! We watched Umbrella Academy, and you should, too!

Finally, we cover our feelings toward Punisher Season Two, or the worlds first streamable Valium! Also, Chris makes terrible impressions! It's just awful, really. Where have all the Marvel shows gone?
