How does one -become- a monster voice actor?...
Children's programming can be really hit or miss; sometimes it leans too crass and silly, sometimes it leans too adult and isn't entirely appealing for kids. Moon Girl, on the other hand, nails the balance perfectly. Beautifully animated, brilliantly acted, and a killer soundtrack, we are anxiously awaiting season 2!

It's like 'The Girl On the Train' meets 'Bolt.'
Weekly Pull Highlights: February 24, 2021
Themes in comics tend to come in waves (vampires, anyone?), so when we get a few books that shift the tide into untouched waters, it's a nice reprieve. This week has all sorts of time periods, perspectives, and purposes - and it's definitely appreciated. Sexy Pirate Queens!... if you're into that kind of thing.

We've got some spicy books this week, filled with intrigue, deception, sex, and slaughter - it's like our whole comic pull list came from HBO! May the force be with you! I almost wish I didn't know who Leviathan was.
Weekly Pull Highlights: November 13, 2019
While Chris is now fighting the cold-weather-sick, we finally find out the identity of Leviathan (yawn), discuss the creepy new title in the Hill's House line, and Tee shares a great new title called Black Stars Above. Oh, and we got Disney+, so stay tuned for a review of episode one of The Mandalorian, coming soon! (PSST: Here's the link to 'Guy on a Buffalo,' which is amazing.) All hail the Nerd Commander in Chief!
Weekly Pull Highlights: April 17, 2019
Lot's of wrap ups and round ups this week as we talk about War of Realms tie-ins and concluding thoughts on Avengers: No Road Home. Then, we discuss the plethora of Star Wars news coming out of Celebration, including an interesting theory from Nerd Commander-In-Chief Kevin Smith in regards to the title of Episode IX. We also talk Disney+ pricing, The Boys trailer, and the unfortunate future of the DC Universe streaming service. We'll be back this Saturday for an episode of Dinner and a Movie where we will be talking Hellboy and eating tacos. Because why not. It's not easy being green (except for when it is).
Weekly Pull Highlights: March 13, 2019
An absolute smorgasbord of new comics, a handy guide to navigating the mire of Age of X-Man, and plentiful news including the fate of Second Coming and a ton of Marvel/Disney updates. Solid episode, overall. And then we go and ruin it by talking about green characters and doing an offensive Irish accent. Well, we're nothing if not predictable. |
