And now we get to be depressed about no sequels...
After years of talking smack as non-believers, we sat down and committed the time to watch the newly released Zack Snyder cut of Justice League. And honestly guys... we were wrong. This movie is awesome!
A relatively non-spoilery episode, we break down WHY it's better, and why having a 4 hour runtime is actually it's biggest strength. We desperately need a more meta Fantastic Four.

Jeez Louise, talk about a hefty week! Two new crossovers began this week - one that seems like it could be "the big one," and one that's... a little more generic. Plus, an excellent F4 one-shot, the start of Batman/Catwoman, and some cool new indie titles. Hope you're ready for a heavy read list! It's sad Paper Girls is over, but we're happy it happened.

We kick off this episode with a quick review of some of the deleted scenes from Avengers: Endgame, but swoop right into a slew of DC Annuals that came out this week! It was an awesome week for comics, from big Batman title releases, to brand new books from Cullen Bunn, to the end of an era with the last issue of Paper Girls. Oh, and we maybe share a little more about ourselves than you wanted to know - no regrets. Comic shows are feeling the cancellations.

A big bunch of hot & fresh new number ones (some definitely better than others). Then, Tee continues through the dregs of Female Furies as we push toward the (hopefully?) satisfying conclusion. In the news, we've got the sad report that Happy was cancelled after two seasons (that's ironic, right?) and Deadly Class is axed after just one. But we pull through the broodiness thanks to DC heroes supporting some real heroes. Our third segment comes tomorrow when we review the new X-Men: Dark Phoenix film during a special Reel Extra episode! Not all superhero relationships are meant to last.
Weekly Pull Highlights: February 13, 2019
Movie and TV news abound this episode, as a week of Ho-Hum comics is rescued by a week of casting and cancellation buzz. Then, we discuss the best examples of the worst superhero couples. Which super people should not be tangling capes? Find out here! What's cooler than being cool? Having cold powers!
Weekly Pull Highlights: January 30, 2019
Somehow we managed to defrost our microphone, scrape the ice off our computer, and get an episode out into the world! It's cold, y'all. Don't fret, we got you covered with hot comics, toasty news and... well a discussion about cold-themed characters.... That last bit may not help, but it will be fun! Key Issues: Not with a bang, but with a crossover whimper.

Whether they're Far From Home, stealing someone's intellectual property, getting cancelled by EA, or coming back from the dead, you'll hear about it first (more likely last) from us! This week we introduce a new segment called Key Issues where we whine about stuff to unwind all that built up millennial angst. We're laying out the issues we have about events and crossovers in DC and Marvel and how they just tend to fall flat. |
