From social media managers losing their souls, to coping with loneliness and depression, we're getting deep, but also awesome, with new indie titles this week. Hey, they can't all be rainbows, right? Silent night, haunted night...
Weekly Pull Highlights: December 9, 2020
'Tis the season to be creeped out by haunted houses, apparently! Between a no-end-home experience in Home Sick Pilots #1, to the mysterious mind-games (pun intended) from Cullen Bunn's one-shot 'Piecemeal,' there's a whole lot of horror going on. And, as always, we are more than here for it. A brief history of the Warhammer universe... very brief.

WOWZER that's a lot of heckin' books! And we don't even cover everything that came out this week! Some cool new stuff, including the new Rorschach from Tom King, and Kieron Gillen taking on Marvel's first foray into Warhammer 40K, and you've got a week primed for a visit to your LCS. Oh, and what's the deal with superhero costumes anyway? But like, is Doreen even really a teen?

So, we didn't post our Powered Gaming on time (our bad, we're fixing it, we promise!), but we do have stuff to talk about today! Like, the current political climate and how young folks are being glorified as revolutionary heroes... and also how Marvel didn't do too bad when they stole the Norse mythos. Come celebrate Tee's birthday and lets chat books! You name it, we read it. Seriously.

What a heckin' beefy week for comics! A ton of excellent new indie titles, all from very different genres - you want horror, we've got horror! You want sci-fi or fantasy? We've got you covered. You want romantic drama, we've got that, too. This week really had it all! Once you see CGI vampire eyes, you're never the same.

The COVID-19 comic drought has officially ended with this week's new comic day! While Marvel is still out for the time being, and DC is only publishing very limited titles, we DID get our hands on 3 great new indie titles that we're so excited to share and talk about! We thank you for your immense patience as we waited for the comic world to restart, and we're glad to have you back with us for a BRAND NEW EPISODE of Cover B! The Daily Bugle is only publishing Black Cat listicles nowadays.
Weekly Pull Highlights: January 29, 2020
It's something special to witness when writers are allowed to build characters however they damn well please. This week, Mike Mignola holds no punches when it comes to playing our heartstrings in the new Frankenstein: Undone, while Ed Brisson brings us back to the wastelands of Old Man Logan in his new title. Plus, Leah Williams makes Dr. Strange a grumpy, old curmudgeon, which is really all I've ever wanted out of the character (he's just so sassy!). The holidays make us really emotional.
Weekly Pull Highlights: December 18, 2019 & December 25, 2019
It's a holly jolly episode with a giant-sized list of comics to cover, from a handful of number ones to a ton of great final issues from last week. Then our holiday gift to you is a sneak peek preview of some Marvel books that come out tomorrow! Merry Christmas, everyone! |
