Look, Mr. Batman, let us explain...
Weekly Pull Highlights: February 12, 2020
From teens dealing with alien tech, to melancholy westerns set in the 70's, to Gwen Nancy Stacy Drew, there's a handful of really great new number ones this week. But we do discuss our less-than-positive opinion of the new Black Label titl- WAIT, Bats, please, don't hurt us again!

Sit down Sherlock, it's not your turn this time!
Weekly Pull Highlights: February 5, 2020
This week was all about characters showing their (not-so-nice) true colors, from the devilish deal-maker in Backtrack, to the chaotic-evil Loki from After Realm, to Reed Richards being a total butthead (color me unsurprised). But hey, at least it's the weekend, right? Salem the Cat should always be voiced by Nick Bakay.
Weekly Pull Highlights: October 2, 2019
Halloween is starting early with a bunch of horror books featuring a plethora of baddies, ranging from evil fairies, to weirdly-drawn vampires, to the patriarchy. But our most pressing fear has been quelled - for now - thanks to Spider-Man being back in the MCU! Sofia would like to cast magic missile.
Weekly Pull Highlights: September 18, 2019
(Pssst... spoilers for House of X from 4:55 to 17:05!) What would it be like to play Dungeons and Dragons with Sofía Vergara? Why don't we have a wrestler named Apex Flex? Why was Superman just a 15 issue advertisement for the Legion of Super-Heroes? Why does Tee have such a hard time processing space lycanthropy? We ask these questions and more in this week's episode! Everything happening in Everything #1 is... strange.
Weekly Pull Highlights: September 4, 2019
Our thoughts are with those suffering from the wrath of Hurricane Dorian as we roll in to this week's episode - if you're able, consider donating to the Bahamas Disaster Relief Fund or the American Red Cross. This week in comics covered everything from creepy monsters, to Canadian heroes, to a giant pug. It's been a weird week. No flerken' technical difficulties will stop Cover B!
Weekly Pull Highlights: August 23, 2019
Technical difficulties can't keep us down! Join us as we discuss the pending divorce between Marvel and Sony, and watch helplessly as poor Peter Tingles cries in between his two unwavering parent-folks! We also talk comics, including a couple titles about cats, a couple titles about serial killers, and more updates on the Powers of X series (didn't we just read one of those?)! It's sad Paper Girls is over, but we're happy it happened.
Weekly Pull Highlights: July 31, 2019
We kick off this episode with a quick review of some of the deleted scenes from Avengers: Endgame, but swoop right into a slew of DC Annuals that came out this week! It was an awesome week for comics, from big Batman title releases, to brand new books from Cullen Bunn, to the end of an era with the last issue of Paper Girls. Oh, and we maybe share a little more about ourselves than you wanted to know - no regrets. Our review of the new Dark Horse film, Hellboy!
[SPOILER WARNING]
Come share a meal with us as we discuss the Hellboy reboot starring David Harbour, Daniel Dae Kim, and Sasha Lane! We'll be discussing the use of horror in action films, the changes between this series and the Guillermo del Toro series, and how delicious Cool Ranch Doritos tacos are. All hail the Nerd Commander in Chief!
Weekly Pull Highlights: April 17, 2019
Lot's of wrap ups and round ups this week as we talk about War of Realms tie-ins and concluding thoughts on Avengers: No Road Home. Then, we discuss the plethora of Star Wars news coming out of Celebration, including an interesting theory from Nerd Commander-In-Chief Kevin Smith in regards to the title of Episode IX. We also talk Disney+ pricing, The Boys trailer, and the unfortunate future of the DC Universe streaming service. We'll be back this Saturday for an episode of Dinner and a Movie where we will be talking Hellboy and eating tacos. Because why not. When being a fan isn't all fun and games.
Weekly Pull Highlights: March 20, 2019
More new number ones flood in this week, and we go on to discuss CEO scandals, media acquisitions, creator-driven comics and more! We end this episode discussing our Key Issues with toxic fandom and the ripples Nerd-Rage can cause. |
