Put him in a body bag, Ralphie!
Weekly Pull Highlights: October 28, 2020
It's Halloween, and honestly our reviews this week are a little spooky. There's one shining star in the bunch, but a lot of this week had titles that couldn't quite get past the finish line... maybe we're just grumpy from Mercury in retrograde.

Weekly Pull Highlights: August 26, 2020
WOW are there some intense plot points this week! From there finally being actually three Jokers, to the surprise throwback in the Daredevil Annual, there's no limit on the comic craziness this episode. OH, and aliens attack Red Sonja... we're not kidding. (Want to avoid Three Jokers #1 spoilers? Skip to 25:10!) But can we all agree that, objectively, Batman is ridiculous?

I mean, I know we mentioned this last time, but like, why are there so many vampires right now? It's like every new round of books includes at least one vampire-focused title! At least this week has a ton of options for folks who love vampires, folks who don't! We all need more Canto in our lives.

We don't know what happened over at Scout Comics, but they are KILLIN' IT right now with their new titles! This week we discuss Yasmeen #1, as well as a handful of other great new indie books we're excited about. Oh, and if you thought Tee had finally moved beyond Baby Yoda... well, that's more on you, really. Jessica Jones never changes (thank God).
Weekly Pull Highlights: January 15, 2020
January hasn't been much for number 1 titles, but we did read some fun stuff this week including the new samurai title Rising Sun from IDW and the very cool Venom The End one-shot from Marvel. Plus, the up-until-recently Marvel Unlimited-exclusive title, Jessica Jones Blind Spot, is finally released on paper and it. is. great. Let's talk comics! For your kids, and your kid's kids, and your kid's kid's kids.
'Tis the season for gift giving, and we want to make it easy to check everyone off your good list! Similar to last year, this month we'll be doing three holiday gift guide episodes, each one focused on a different age bracket. This week, we're covering all the comic, media and gaming goodies you should consider buying for the kids in your life.
Superheroes aren't often good for goodness sake.
Weekly Pull Highlights: November 27, 2019
Now that you've eaten all the food and spent all the money, let's talk some comics! From a holiday-slaughter in The Crow: Hard the Herald one-shot, to another kind of slaughter in Avengers #27, there's a whole lot of doom and gloom about. At least the Fantastix are here to remind us what being a hero is all about (hint - it's not always murder!). I need a Pet Avenger comic run immediately. IMMEDIATELY.
Weekly Pull Highlights: August 30, 2019
From hurricane preparations, to the D23 Conference (She-Hulk!!), to the Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker Trailer, we cover all the big talking points from the week. Comics this week were heavy on the Marvel-side with lots of middle issue melodrama, and another DC title all about villains without actually telling us who's the Year of the Villain is all about! A brand new format, just for you!

Howdy and welcome to the new and improved Cover B (a podcast that is by all definitions still new so calling it new and improved seems a little redundant). Going forward, there is gonna be more content regularly with less content per episode. Episodes will focus essentially on one theme or type of topic instead of three or more. We explain it all in the intro. As for comics this week, we discuss the endings to Batman Damned, War of the Realms and its various tie-ins and Age of X-Man X-Tremists. We also discuss two adorably heart-warming independent titles: Canto and Steel Cage. Thanks for listening! |
